With out a police report or the guy admitting it on camera or sighning a paper or admitting it to the cop yeah it is your word aganist his. which means nothing with out proof. But the cop should have investagted the car for paint scraps & you need pics to prove it. & a estimate from a shop for the damges to fix. YOU ll be lucky if you get anything out of him unless you get a police report & it stating about the damage noticably caused by his car to your with scrathes or dents on his car . other wise your screwed & you deffinatly need to take him to court. I mean if he ran he has no intention of owning up to what he did. So you need to have another cop who is willing to do there job & help you out. you need 1. police report being detailed 2. Proof on the report he did it 3. estimate of $ to fix 4. court date Good luck.
